Software Engineering
Help shape the future of our products
Our products are high-tech devices and software solutions already play a central role when it comes to their success on the market. In the future, we want to expand our performance in the software segment even further. As a team member in the Software Engineering department, you will make a significant contribution to the future viability of our products.
Would you like to work in an international team? Do you bring a degree in software engineering, as a technical college or university graduate? Do you have a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree or have you finished your studies with a PhD degree in your field? Then we look forward to hearing from you.
As a software engineer you will work on these or similar projects
- Development of drivers for the hardware to control the electronics
- Develop the human-machine interface (HMI) design so that optimal use can be made of user features
- Build the software architecture so that the solution developed can grow with future requirements
- Ensure the maintenance requirements of any software solution. The goal is to build solutions in modular form in order to use them on different device platforms
- Development of algorithms for functions such as location and positioning
- Development of joint concepts with your electronics colleagues so that we can continue to design our product systems optimally in line with future customer requirements

Simon, Software Engineer

I have been employed with the company since 2006 as a software engineer from the very beginning. Originally, I did an apprenticeship as an electronics technician and then studied systems engineering with a focus on software. My roots began in a start-up where we developed a digital ride sharing platform. Back then, however, we were ahead of our time: there was no mobile use option for users as we know it today with the smartphone. However, my interest at that time was already very much on embedded systems. For this reason, I wanted to return to electronics and started working at Safran Vectronix.
Software is essential in all our devices and it will become even more important in the future. In my projects, I am always learning new things, because the requirements on the customer side are increasing and constantly changing. The role as a software engineer is therefore really crucial in terms of product development.
I can and should work hands-on, because I have to thoroughly understand the actual use case. The very close exchange with colleagues from other divisions is part of my everyday life. I have an intense interaction with product management, mechanics and optics, as well as with sales. In the entire software team, we support each other. I work with colleagues from many different countries, such as the Czech Republic, Greece, France, Slovakia and Germany. Since we, as software developers, always speak many other common languages in addition to English, this is not a problem. For us, other of the many languages are, for example, Bash, Python and C/C++.
