“Here I solve complex issues pragmatically and thus help strengthen the company.”

Caroline, Legal Counsel

Since January 2023 I have been working as Legal Counsel at Safran Vectronix. In this role I support both the Legal Department and the Export Control and Trade Compliance area and am involved in numerous interdisciplinary projects. My day-to-day work includes negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts, developing and implementing processes to ensure compliance with legal and internal group requirements, and a variety of tasks in the field of export control. I apply my legal expertise across departments to resolve legal and regulatory issues in a practical and efficient way.

My professional path is based on a double degree in Business Law from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas (France). More than 15 years of legal experience in international companies and law firms in Switzerland, France, Luxembourg and the USA have sharpened my understanding of complex contexts and further developed my ability to provide targeted, effective advice. My work focuses on contract and corporate law, risk management and compliance in a cross-border context. I am also currently responsible for selected areas of export control.

What I particularly enjoy about my work is the breadth of topics and the dynamic, international exchange. I find it motivating to actively contribute to the company’s safety, sustainable development and competitiveness. The solution-oriented collaboration with colleagues from different departments is enriching — different perspectives come together, we learn from one another and jointly develop innovative solutions.

I work in a small, highly specialised team: we are two lawyers (including myself), two part-time assistants and an export control specialist. This compact team size enables close exchange, short decision-making paths and great flexibility. Thanks to our trusting cooperation and concentrated expertise, we are able to handle complex tasks efficiently and deliver tangible results for the company.

For my role I consider solid legal knowledge, analytical and structured thinking, as well as precision and adaptability essential. Equally important are strong communication skills, the ability to work in a team, initiative and a sense of responsibility. A willingness to continuously develop professionally and to solve complex issues pragmatically is part of my everyday work.

In the future I want to deepen my legal know-how and explore additional topics that are relevant for the company — particularly in light of current regulatory developments and international issues. It is important to me to develop practical solutions together with my colleagues that are legally sound and at the same time effectively support the company’s goals.

As a counterbalance to the demanding workday, physical activities give me energy, and regular professional as well as personal exchange with colleagues is an important source of inspiration for me. My advice to new colleagues at Safran Vectronix: start with an open and curious attitude, ask questions, take initiative and get involved. Our flat hierarchies enable direct communication, there are many opportunities for professional development — and team spirit together with a friendly working atmosphere make the start here easy.
