Jsmael, Shop Floor Manager

My function as Shop Floor Manager is ultimately that of a production manager for particular product segments. In my case, the production of our MOSKITO, MOSKITO TI and JIM Compact devices. I took over the position at the end of 2017. Prior to that, I worked for many years in other medium-sized industrial companies in the areas of project management, engineering and supply chain. To round off this practical experience, I completed an Executive MBA at the same time. I then switched to Safran Vectronix. One of the reasons I was attracted by this move was that the company really develops and builds its own products from start to finish.

The complexity of the devices but also the quality expectations of our customers are extremely high. For this reason, our devices are tested several times during assembly, adjusted and finally fully assembled. This requires a great commitment, attention, a lot of patience and a versatile response from each individual team member.

As a company, we have a size where the common corporate culture can be lived. Personally, I find the spirit of teamwork sensational, i.e. we live the philosophy “We are all in the same boat, rowing in the same direction, braving all storms and celebrating our successes”. In my position, I deal a lot with technical, social and leadership matters. I am particularly pleased that I have already been able to motivate six of my team members to take part in major training courses, so that we can continue to develop as a team.
