High-tech and international: Safran Vectronix is a world leader in state-of-the-art opto-electronic equipment featuring Swiss quality. Our excellence lies in optical and precision engineering products and a focus on outstanding software and hardware engineering. Our product portfolio includes handheld laser rangefinders and night vision devices, north finding technologies as well as software solutions and sensor modules. Meanwhile, we are proudly looking at 100 years of company history and with our headquarters in the Swiss Rhine valley, we are firmly rooted in Swiss tradition.
Swiss quality, precision and reliability are the guiding principles for our company, based in Heerbrugg. And it is these principles that make us a market leader. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, based in Paris, which in turn is part of the Safran Group. The French aerospace group employs a total of around 83,000 people. In Heerbrugg, we develop, produce and sell our products with a workforce of 250 employees.

Max has been the CEO of Safran Vectronix since 2017. He started as a Financial Controller in 2006, and thanks to the Safran Mobility Program, was Chief Financial Officer in the USA.

We all find ourselves in a contradiction: the world is changing at an incredible speed and at the same time the need for safety is deeply rooted in each of us – regardless of where we live. This also applies to those countries where people cannot rely on stable political conditions and in which peaceful coexistence is often not a matter of course.

We work for customers from all over the world
As a globally active company, we have an international focus. At Heerbrugg, this is particularly true for our team, which consists of employees from over 20 nations. But our customers are also widely dispersed in over 90 countries around the world. Our selection process for who we work with is done very carefully: We have established strict internal compliance rules and, in addition, some of our products are subject to Swiss export controls.
With our laser rangefinder and observation systems, we focus primarily on government business – that is, cooperation with procurement authorities. These are defense, police and border forces. For classic B2B business, we supply our ULTISENSE sensor modules to manufacturers of military and civilian goods. In the consumer market, we are present with our TERRAPIN X laser rangefinder.
And why are our solutions so successful? Because we as a company are not only leaders in classic optics and mechanics, but also our software and hardware solutions are among the best. Unique calculation algorithms, software packages for our devices or intuitive HMIs facilitate their use. In addition, in hardware engineering, there is the so-called SWaPC design, which is about the optimization of components: small size (S), low weight (W), high performance (P) and this at optimized costs (C).
