Max G., Optical Systems Engineer

I am still very fresh to Safran Vectronix and have been working as an Optical Systems Engineer since August 2022. In fact, it is my first full-time job that I started after graduation. I studied physics at the LMU Munich and did my master’s degree there with a focus on optical systems (especially spectrometry). With this focus, the position at Safran Vectronix fit very well with my knowledge from my studies. I also found the fact that our products are extremely high-tech and are primarily used in the defense sector an interesting and important aspect. What I can already say about my area of responsibility: we have very versatile challenges. How can optics be ideally implemented in our devices with electronics and the laser as a rangefinder? Creativity is definitely in demand here and I can further deepen my knowledge. I also see good opportunities for further training, which is strongly encouraged by our company. And last but not least, I get to work with helpful, friendly and very experienced colleagues. Furthermore, I like Switzerland: friendly people and a beautiful landscape with mountains and lakes. I come from South Tyrol and from there I feel very much at home here.
