Pascal, Apprentice

Pascal, Lernender

I am one of around ten apprentices who complete part of their training at Safran Vectronix every year. I started in the second year of my apprenticeship in the Sales & Marketing department. In the third year of my apprenticeship, I joined the operational purchasing department. The first year of my apprenticeship I completed at “libs Industrielle Berufslehren Schweiz” here on the company premises. The advantage for apprentices: Various companies have joined forces at Innopark and even throughout Switzerland as partners for vocational training.

My company of choice for the next few years was Safran Vectronix. We have a very interesting customer group with international defense and police forces. We manufacture technologically very sophisticated products for them. And we are also internationally positioned on the supplier side. In the purchasing department, I am given a lot of responsibility even as an apprentice: I establish relationships with suppliers, initiate purchase orders, clear customs, and handle deficiencies or defect reports with suppliers. As a buyer, I also have a very good insight into other departments for whom I look after suppliers. These include for example, product development or production.
